Our Philosophy

We strongly believe that doctors and patients are part of a team and must work together to achieve the desired health outcomes.

Our Doctors

Tien completed his medical degree at Flinders University in 2007. He previously completed two degrees in engineering from Cornell University and Northwestern University in the USA, and worked as a senior electrical engineer at Motorola for several years.

He is currently completing his PhD on Stress Hyperglycaemia with scholarships from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the Royal Australasian College of Physician (RACP) Kincaid-Smith. He is the author of two US Patents, and has published several papers in the fields of engineering and medicine.

Although he is a diabetes and endocrinology specialist, he appreciates general practice, after having been the director and doctor of a home visit service.  This unique experience helped him to treat the patient holistically. He believes in empowering patients to better manage their own medical conditions, and continuity of care with the help of the family doctor.

He is a current member of the Adelaide Public Health Network (APHN) Southern Clinical Committee.

He is the husband of a busy and successful GP and a hands-on father of two wonderful children. He remains an avid nerd and geek, and loves engineering as a hobby. He spends any free time camping, playing tennis, playing chess, traveling, tinkering with 3d printing projects or working on electronics with his children.

He consults in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
